What a pleasure to be able to offer this 1962 S1 E-Type Coupe in our Autumn Auction,  She is part of a private collection.  The history files are most substantial (there are four A4 size files of invoices).  Amongst the papers I found an old green log book, see appendix 1, which shows that a Mr Robinson purchased the car on 1st November ’70 and Mr. Lucas, who restored the car, which by the way was all in bits, in 1981.  He kept it in store until about 2015 and he set about a complete nut and bolt restoration, which included the interior, the engine and bodywork and that included a brand new bonnet.  He went to the trouble of having alloyed polishing services, to polish all the bright work in the engine bay, and in the restoration all the chrome items i.e. bumpers etc have been re-chromed and also the car has uprated disc brakes.  Now to the paintwork, it is very usable but it is not up to the standard of the rest of the car. She comes with many E-type Club Magazines and useful articles.  On file, we have letters to the DVLA, see appendix 2, original chassis plates, see appendix 3, a Club Weekend 2017 Jaguar History Cars, see appendix 4 and the old green log book, see appendix 1. What a wonderful opportunity to acquire an E-type Series 1 Coupe and because it has been off the road for most of its life, the mileage, dare I say, could possibly be correct.
