Description:A two owner car which has been off the road since 1988. Second owner from May 1973. Re-commissioned in 2019, now with long MOT – previous history available. Mechanically and bodily sound. GRP wings and sills were fitted in 1973 and paintwork untouched ever since. Excellent stainless brightwork. Undersealed & Waxoiled. Full sunroof operates easily. Good floor mats in cabin & boot. Engine and transmission sweet and pulls strongly, with good synchromesh. Odometer reads 84,704. The wooden dashboard is un-cracked and the top fascia is unmarked. Recent re-commissioning comprised replacement radiator and thermostat, brake master cylinder, discs, pads, hoses, servo and brake switch, battery, rear shock absorbers, prop shaft bearing, front suspension bushes, new exhaust system, rear axle straps. Fitted with period alloys but 5 original steel wheels included in the sale. Comes with many invoices, workshop manual & CD and several spares. Can be enjoyed and driven as it is, or would benefit from further investment.
Auctioneers notes: The vendor has given a very full and frank description of this iconic Italian Sports Coupe. He asked me to mention in my notes that she comes with a boot full of useful spares including oil filters, brake pads, plugs and points etc. With reference to the fibre glass panels it is worth noting they were optional extras to the racing GTA coupes for weight saving reasons. The invoice file, which is impressive, comes with lots of pamphlets, workshop manuals and a DVD maintenance disc, invoices from 1973. We also have the last tax disc expiring 30th June 1988 and that was the last time she was on the road until this year. I must say, when she arrived the engine sounded as sweet as a nut and she comes with a new MOT until 8th August 2020. Please come and look, what a great starter classic and an Alfa to boot.
