This Armstrong Siddeley comes from long-term ownership. In the history file you will find photographic documentation of an older restoration and also some photos of the car in the 1960’s. Along with the photos you can find some previous MOT’s, tax discs and insurance valuation certificates. A rare opportunity to purchase a rare car.

Auctioneer’s notes:

This is an extremely rare car, only 122 LWB cars were made.  They were not outsourced, they were built by the factory.  They extended the wheelbase by 10.2. inches to accommodate this formal limousine.  The engine is a straight six of 2309 cc and they were of an advanced design for their day and they produced 82 BHP (the factory, during the war, built a number of warplanes and designed and built the engines).  The car has a top speed of 82 miles per hour.  You had a choice of transmission, conventional 4-speed or a pre-select gearbox, which is what this car has.  These pre-select gearboxes give a very fast gear change.  They were used extensively in the thirties and late forties in racing cars, such as the ERA.  I will give instructions to any buyer who is not familiar with these transmissions. The photographs of the restoration were carried out many years ago.  She is very solid, use as is, or restore at your leisure.  She may be viewed, strictly by appointment.
