Description:This Aston Martin DBS has been privately entered into the auction by the registered keeper who has owned the vehicle for 4 years. It is a matching numbers car and a UK supplied right hand drive and a heritage certificate is included in the sale. This is the 33rd from last DBS with a six cylinder engine made, after that they were all V8’s. Sold new by H W Motors Ltd in Middlesex, this car was exported to January in 1986 by the then owner Mr Tibble at 50,000 miles. The car was then sold to a Mr Lawrence in 1989 at 78,099 miles. It was put into storage in 2009 until 2012 upon which it was transferred to the estate of the late Mr Lawrence at 96,032 miles. It was then sold by a classic car specialist on behalf of the estate in Australia to the current owner in 2013 and repatriated to the UK. Due to the car’s disappearance from the DVLA’s radar when it went to Australia, the logbook only states 2 previous keepers, although it does retain its original registration number. The car was resprayed in 2004 and the gearbox and torque converter were reconditioned at a cost of $3250 in 2013. During the vendor’s ownership, the front brake callipers have been reconditioned with stainless steel pistons, both front and rear brake servo’s reconditioned (original type, not after market), flexible brake hoses replaced, all four silencers replaced with new, outer sill trim covers replaced with new, engine oil and filter changed, air and fuel filters changed, antifreeze/ corrosion inhibitor replaced, spark plugs and HT leads replaced with new.
Auctioneers notes: When I went to see this truly English classic, I was very impressed indeed. These DBS 6cyl are beginning to be appreciated by the connoisseurs. This car needs to be seen. The floor pans and boot floor are all original and in excellent condition. The interior is extremely tidy. The body work is not concours but is very good. She is ready to drive away. The mileage is believed correct however the vendor has chosen not to warrant it due to insufficient history. |
