On the Surface: This is a stunning example of an Austin A110 Westminster. Finished in a black over a beige leather interior it looks very smart. Both the chrome and paintwork are exceptionally shiny and have been done to a very high standard, reflecting care and attention to detail.

Maintenance & History: Under the current ownership of The Vendor for the past three years, this Austin A110 has undergone some restoration work. It has been completely stripped and resprayed with refurbished wooden door cappings, a retrimmed boot interior, replacement number plates and a full mechanical service. Prior to this, the previous owner had maintained the car for 13 years ensuring its longevity and performance.

This example comes with a considerable history file including the original A110 Westminster Driver’s Handbook, MOT certificates dating back to 1985 and invoices totalling nearly £2,000. Noteworthy entries include an August 2008 invoice detailing a transmission and converter rebuild by VM Transmission Products Ltd of Staffordshire for £710.88 and a June 2008 invoice showing an expenditure of £409.53 on a stainless steel exhaust system.

The Model: The Austin Westminster series was first introduced by Austin in 1954 to replace the A70 Hereford. The series evolved through several iterations (A90, A95, A99, A105, and A110) until 1968 when it was succeeded by the Austin 3-Litre. The final major update, the A110 Westminster, arrived in 1961. It featured an extended wheelbase for improved rear space and roadholding. The series also saw variants like the Wolseley 6/110 and the Vanden Plas Princess Mark II, which boasted a 120 hp C-Series engine. Despite a production total of 26,105 A110s, only 41 remain registered on UK roads today.

Sale Insight: This 1966 Austin A110 Westminster represents a rare opportunity to own a fantastic example of an A110 Westminster. Its condition makes it a standout choice for collectors and enthusiasts. With only 41 registered examples left in the UK, this vehicle not only offers a nostalgic driving experience but also stands as a rare find.
