On the Surface: This is a great example of a 1932 Austin Seven Special, finished in a striking Yellow over a Black interior. This combination really makes the car stand out. Built on a long wheelbase chassis, this Austin Seven Special has been owned by the vendor since December 2021 and presents a unique opportunity for any Austin or hill climb enthusiast.

Maintenance & History: This Austin Seven Special has benefitted from several recent new parts, including a clutch, gearbox, battery, seats and a 2-part tonneau cover. The engine has been tuned specifically for hill climbing ensuring enhanced performance and reliability for its next owner.

The history file on this Austin is extensive, containing a wealth of documentation. Included are old MOT certificates, insurance valuations, photocopies of manuals related to the car, wiring diagrams, historical photographs and an assortment of invoices.

The Model: Now you may be thinking; ‘What is an Austin Seven Special?’ well a “special” is a car built for a specific use, either entirely to a custom design, or by combining the essential parts of a number of makes. The reason for building it is to make a car with better performance than anything that could be bought ready-made.

The Austin 7, produced from 1922 through to 1939 and affectionately nicknamed the ‘Baby Austin’, is one of the most popular cars ever made. It was instrumental in wiping out most other British small cars and cycle cars of the early 1920s, much like the Ford Model T did in the U.S.

Sale Insight: The Vendor has thoroughly enjoyed owning this charming example of an Austin Seven Special but has decided it’s time for it to find a new home.
