Description:

In Brief:

  • Unmolsested example of the desirable BSA Gold Star
  • Owned by the current registered keeper for the last 14 years
  • V5C cites just 3 owners in 70 years
  • One of the fastest motorcycles around in the 50’s

On the Surface: Stunning example of a 1955 BSA DBD34GS Gold Star motorcycle, finished in an eye-catching Silver and Black.

Maintenance & History: Unfortunately, there is not much history with this bike except the current V5C. The V5C document reveals that the current registered keeper has owned the bike for the last 14 years, and it has had just 3 owners in its 70-year lifespan. Despite the lack of detailed maintenance records, the bike’s appearance and condition suggest it has been well cared for. Unfortunatley there is no battery on this bike so we do not have any information on it’s running status.

The Model: The BSA Gold Star, produced from 1938 to 1963, was renowned for its speed and performance. Available in 350 cc and 500 cc single-cylinder four-stroke variations, these motorcycles were among the fastest of their time. Each Gold Star was hand-built and came with documented dynamometer test results, showcasing the horsepower produced and allowing new owners to understand the bike’s capabilities.

Sale Insight: This BSA Gold Star is one of four bikes being offered by the current vendor, who has decided to reduce the size of his collection. This provides a rare opportunity to acquire a  a true icon of 1950s motorcycle engineering and design.
