1937 | Buick | Special Opera 8 | 55,974 (Not Warranted) | £11,900 - £12,900 | |
Description:Description from The Vendor: One of the best designs from the late 1930s, and one of the greats from the art decor period. The car was imported from California in 2017. It still has its original black coach lacquer from 1937 making it a rare unspoiled original. In recent years the Buick has received some mechanical restoration like a brand new Edelbrock carburettor, a high output alternator and a high torque aluminium starter motor, however, the car still has an original 4062cc Dynaflash straight 8 and its original 3 speed floor transmission. In November 2020 it had some engineering works take place which are all recorded, this included; a new radiator, new handbrake cables and wiring loom tidy.
Auctioneer’s notes: What a find! You can use as-is or restore it. I like its originality and that straight 8 sounds superb. I also note it has a new carburetor. May be viewed strictly by appointment. |
