Description:“Jessie” is a Buick Tourer 4 Cylinder Tourer. She has been in the vendor’s family for 60 years. Imported from Canada to Torquay for 3 maiden ladies, Miss Annie, Lizzie and Jessie Holland who employed a chauffeur. In the mid 1950’s their house, contents and the Buick were auctioned and was purchased by an old school friend of the vendor’s. Shortly after the vendor’s father bought the car. It has been used for family and friend’s weddings and is now in original condition. Has a low mileage on the clock which the vendor is sure is genuine. The car is known affectionately in the family as Jessie in memory of Miss Jessie Holland, as seen on the plaque on the car. Included in the file is the instruction manual and copy (for use when working on the car), original spare parts and price list, an old buff logbook from 1957, two old MOTs 2007 and 2005 plus the current V5. Auctioneers notes: It is a privilege to be able to offer by auction this 94 year old car which looks to be in original condition. The car was running when it went into storage however we have been unable to get it started so will be selling it as a non runner. It now requires some recommissioning. The big question is does the new owner restore her or keep her originality? May be viewed by appointment. It is worth noting that up until June 2016 when she was put into permanent storage she was running well, driven regularly and serviced. Being laid up for so long this seems to have had a rather negative effect hence why she is being sold as a non runner. |
