Citroen 2CV AZU Van 1963

Citroen 2CV AZU Estate/Van. First registered in UK in 1995, but the year of manufacture is given as 1963. The vehicle featured (complete with photograph) in the book – “Citroen 2CV – The Complete Story” by Matt White. It has a restored 603cc engine, new 12 volt wiring loom and is left hand drive. The vehicle has been completely restored over a period of almost 10 years, stripping all bodywork back to bare metal, repairing as necessary and repainting in its original Citroen blue. It has a replacement bonnet and wings and new chrome headlights. An electronic ignition has been added for sure and confident starting. In the interests of safety the “suicide doors” have been replaced with conventional 2CV opening doors. Standard 2CV sliding seats have been added (the original seats did not have a sliding or adjustable capability). The load platform has been lined with plywood to protect the body (this can easily be removed). The Odometer is in kilometres and shows 87,431kilometres (approximately 54,000 miles). The spare wheel usually contained in the spare wheel compartment is ‘missing’.
There is absolutely no rust on the vehicle and the undersides and chassis have been wax oil/undersealed. Since the completion of the restoration it has been dry stored in a garage, with Cetec charger connected to a new battery and only used occasionally on dry/sunny days.
