Lot No: 59
Year Make Model Mileage SOLD FOR
1938 Citroen Avant 7C 63,355 (Not Warranted) £8050.00 + buyers premium

Description:

There is not a lot of history prior to this car being imported into this country in 1990. On file, there are all the shipping notices, customs clearances etc., copies of duty paid and a number of documents in French. She is black with light tan cloth interior. The last registered keeper was a gentleman who imported this car and owned it for 28 years.

Auctioneers Notes: She is an early example of these iconic French cars – she by no means is a show queen but a very usable, attractive car and I particularly like the original looking interior, especially the cloth trim. These cars are very advanced technically, there are built on a unitary construction (no separate chassis) and this continues today. They also have independent suspension all round, coupled with hydraulic brakes and front wheel drive. In France they were marketed as “the executive car”. They were produced between 1934 and 1957. In France, the Citroen Avant is known as “Reine de la route” which translates as “queen of the road”. She is ready to be viewed as from now.
