Description:
Citroën Heritage documents confirm the factory build date of 5th January 1974. The car then went to a Dealer in Val de Marne area, South West Paris and was 1st registered as 6222 RJ 24 on 25th March 1974.
The car was bought by the previous owner, Nick Hopkinson whilst on holiday in France, from Jean Luc Bardon of Thiviers in the Dordogne (Department 24) in June 2001. The car was driven home the 500 miles to Yorkshire where it stayed until October 2014 when the seller acquired it.
This particular variant has a 1985cc Carburettor fed Petrol engine with a manual 4 speed gearbox and it will keep up with modern traffic with no problems and is DIY maintainable.
The lower bodywork (chassis is original and unmolested) was restored several years ago by GM Motor Services in Holmfirth for the previous owner and painted in the original Citroen ‘Bleu Delta’ (AC640 AS).
Since acquiring the car the seller has re trimmed the seats, internal door cards etc. and carpets which have all been recovered/replaced with the original material from a specialist supplier in Holland.
A lot of the main hydraulic system has also been replaced over the past 2 years (upgrade hydraulic pump, main pressure regulator, suspension spheres, upgrade ride height valves) along with the rear suspension bump stops, front and rear gaiters etc. petrol pump, upgraded radiator (now 4 core) and new hoses, new battery, ignition related items e.g. coil, HT Leads, plugs etc. + heater valve, choke cable and a carburettor rebuild.
The colour is a limited edition Citroen one only available 1974/75 and included with the large history file is a Citroen Heritage Certificate confirming original matching body and engine numbers.
The mileage is circa 40,000 miles from the info available but due to it’s age, not guaranteed. However old French control technique info (in the history file) to support the mileage along with UK MOT’s etc is available along with lots of repair bills, plus the original French LHD headlights and speedometer head in kph come with the car so it can easily be converted for European use.
Car was Waxoyled in 2014 then the A,B,C pillars and door interiors were all treated with Bilt Hambler Dynax S-60 cavity protection.
Tyres are all good plus some spares and a workshop manual are also included in the sale along with an MOT until October 2017 (VED is Zero as ‘Historic’ and the car is ready to drive anywhere, now.
