On the Surface: This is a beautiful final production year example of the Ferrari Dino 308 GT4, finished in it’s original colour, Argento Silver, complemented by a striking Blue half-leather interior with Pale Blue Nuvola leather and Connelley Hide. It’s been owned by The Vendor for the past 34 years (since 1990) and boasts just 4 former keepers. Throughout this long period, the car has been dry-stored in The Vendor’s garage.

Maintenance & History: This Dino 308 GT4 comes with an impressive history file, including MOT certificates, a Ferrari 308 Workshop Manual, and detailed invoices for servicing, parts and interior retrimming, which amount to circa £16,000. A notable feature of this car is the conversion from carburettor to fuel injection, a change made by The Vendor for reliability reasons. However, recognising that purists may prefer to return the car to its original carburettor specification, all the original parts needed for this conversion are stored in the boot, ready for refitting if desired. Please note, the speedometer was replaced at some point, so the current mileage cannot be fully verified.

In June 2023, the car underwent significant work by Ferrari specialists SportsItalia Ltd in Fair Oak, Eastleigh, at a cost of £4,584. This included replacing the throttle bodies, repairing wiring, tuning, an oil and filter change, handbrake replacement, new spark plugs, wiper arms, and a new battery. While SportsItalia completed this recent work, much of the more recent servicing and work has been carried out by Emblem Sports Cars, renowned in the local area for their expertise in Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati models.

The Model: The Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 is a mid-engined V8 2+2 sports car, built by Ferrari between 1973 and 1980 alongside the 208 GT4 from 1975-1980. The 308 was developed in close collaboration with Enzo Ferrari himself and it holds the distinction of being Ferrari’s first production mid-engine V8 model and the first Ferrari production car to feature styling by Bertone rather than Pininfarina. Designed by Marcello Gandini, who also created the legendary Lancia Stratos, Lamborghini Miura and Countach, the Dino 308 GT4 is defined by its sharp, angular lines. Power comes from a mid-mounted all-aluminum 2.9L DOHC V8 engine, producing approximately 250 HP, delivered to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission.
