The vendor states her and her husband were looking for an estate car and when this appeared for auction in 2016 it fitted the bill perfectly.
This early example of a MK4 Cortina has original light tan interior which which Ford later replaced which a darker colour. The car has covered just under 5000 miles during the vendor’s 4 year ownership and she tells us that time was trouble free. Other than routine servicing the car has had the brakes overhauled, a new steering rack fitted, new carbourettor, exhaust system, electronic distributor, plug leads and poly bushes fitted to the rear suspension.
DVLA history is included which tells us that the first, second and third owners all lived in the same road in Swansea, it then went onto its fourth owner in the same area. In 2014 it was acquired by its fifth owner in Lincolnshire who told the vendor he recommissioned the car by replacing the sills and front wings, he did not touch the engine, gearbox or back axle. Other than the original handbook and V5 the car lacked paperwork when purchased by the vendor. Looking at the general condition of the vehicle it is believed the mileage could be accurate however sadly cannot be warranted.
During her ownership the vendor has compiled a comprehensive diary showing known history, expenditure and events attended. Also included are a spare set of keys, December 1976 Ford Range Brochure and Haynes manual.
