Auctioneers Notes: This 240 Mark II Jaguar is something very special. It is not for the purist (see appendix). I think she is quite superb. The vendor, who is a farmer, purchased her in 2014 as a barn find and set about creating the car you can see today. As you can see from the photographs, she looks like any Mark II Jaguar which has been beautifully restored but she has many other features which you might not find in other Jaguars. The history file has a great number of invoices, plus old MOT’s and old Log Books and a Jaguar Heritage Certificate. She currently has an MOT to 11.8.20. She has only been used each year to go to the Goodwood Revival, so sadly, she has come to the market for lack of use. When you see her, I hope you will agree with me, she is stunning. Appendix from the vendor: “My car for the last six years I, together with a highly skilled semi-retired Jaguar mechanic built this lovely car from a barn find MK2 240. It now boasts a 4.2 engine and 3 speed auto box from a 69 XJ6 and 2″ SU carbs, stainless sports exhaust 2.88 Power lock diff. Easy steer electric power steering, adjustable for sensitivity. Electric front seats from an XJ40. High capacity radiator revotec electric fan and high output alternator and 100-amp battery and electronic ignition. All new brake discs and braided hoses and copper lines throughout, new chrome wires, hubs and spinners and Pirelli P2000 super touring tyres. finished in BL Opaline green metallic which sets off the classic body shape, along with sports spats.”
