Description:

Fully restored in the 1980’s this Jaguar 420 has been raced in JDC pre ’68 series with class wins and fastest laps, then in CTCRC in 2000’s with class wins and fastest laps, Wiscombe Park hill climbs. Finished in every race entered. Road legal and useable, ready to go and great for track days etc.

 SPECIFICATION

Interior:

Full Safety Devices roll cage with side bars

2 x competition Corbeau sprint seats with alloy mountings

2 x race FIA  Schroth 4 point harnesses (date expired)

Plumbed in fire system & separate hand held unit

Motolita leather rimmed steering wheel

Original dash, centre console, headlining, etc, to retain traditional Jaguar patina

Mechanical spec:

Race prepared engine – gas flowed HD8 carbs, inlet manifold & big valve head, Burton cams, short skirt 9:1 pistons, late rods, lightened & balanced crank with flywheel, harmonic balancer, oil cooler, oil temp gauge, spin on filter, comp. engine mountings, electric fans, electronic ignition, modern alternator, hi-torque starter.

Cross-drilled XJS vented front discs with Coopercraft billet alloy calipers & DS11 pads,  cross-drilled rear discs with XJ calipers & M1155 pads + brake cooling ducting front & rear

Uprated overdrive on 3rd and 4th gear

Harvey Bailey front roll bar and rear roll bar, Mk10 lowered springs.

Polybush (competition red) suspension all round

Dry battery in boot

Solid mounted subframes(detachable)

6 branch exhaust manifold, special big bore stainless steel system throughout ( 98db)

Alloy long distance foam filled race fuel tank, 1 bulkhead alloy tank, 1 original steel tank with gauge, Facet fuel pump

Auctioneers notes: This car has been entered by Peter Cooper the proprietor of Coopercraft Ltd the well known Jaguar brake specialist etc and the car was prepared by him to a high standard, he tells us she produced 200BHP on the rear wheels. She has not been used in competition in recent years so might require light recommissioning. Lots of old MOTs , some invoices and lap charts.
