Jaguar E Type 4.2 FHC 1968

We are very pleased at SWVA to offer this Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Coupe.  She has been entered into our sale at the end of October by the private vendor, who has owned this great car since the 26^th April 2004.  She was supplied new by Henly’s of London and the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate confirms she is a genuine  R.H.D. car with matching numbers and importantly the colour she carries today is the original colour, which is light primrose.  The history, which I have to emphasize is very comprehensive and starts on 28.9.94 when a Mr. Heane of Preston became the owner of her (DVLA say there are 4 former keepers prior to the vendor)  The whole file is kept in an expensive folder and details every invoice which he paid.  While in his ownership of 10 years, it is worth noting that the MOT history starts 8.98 mileage 80,289 until. 4.05 mileage 82,712   We are pleased to say that the new owner, the vendor, carried on this tradition in a most detailed manor up to the present day.  Interesting to note that the MOT history 5.06, mileage 83,941 to 4.17 mileage 94,499 and today she reeds approx. 95,100 which shows that she has covered just under 10,000 in the last 20 years. We have pulled out a couple of invoices as examples – she had new timing chains and tensioners in 06 and a complete overhaul of the rear axle at approximately the same time.  She also benefits from a stainless steel exhaust system fitted in 2.06 (and sound superb) electronic ignition and electronic fuel pump and has been regularly wax-oiled.  To sum up 24 years of comprehensive service history which shows she has been truly loved and well looked after.

Auctioneers Notes: What a pleasure to meet the vendor and view this lovely E-Type.  It is rare to find such a car and the best way to describe her is that she is a driver’s car, unspoilt, carries a few scars and blemishes on the paintwork.  The interior is original with good patina.  A good clean would do wonders.  She is a solid example which has been used as she should be and well looked after.  If you are looking for a no nonsense, original looking E-Type then she is for you.  By the way, the vendor believes that she is the seventeen’s example of this model to come off the production line.  Can be viewed by appointment.
