This light blue metallic 4.2 litre Series 3 Jaguar XJ6 was first registered in 1984 and the car’s unspoilt dark navy blue leather seat facings, rear reading lamps, colour coordinated imitation lambswool back seat floor rugs all indicate this well-cared for example is wearing the highly desirable Sovereign badge on its bootlid. About 2000 miles ago, the Jaguar’s original XK engine was replaced with a refurbished unit by the technicians at West Riding Independent, a highly respected Yorkshire-based classic Jaguar specialist. Other major work carried out to the car over the last 12 months included fitting a reconditioned radiator and several hoses to refurbishing the water pump and replacing a corroded front suspension beam.
Four new Uniroyal Rainsport tyres were recently fitted and a stainless steel exhaust system has now replaced the old mild steel one. New fuel senders were fitted to the Jaguar’s twin petrol tanks to ensure the gauge provides a constant reading and powerful LED high and low beam headlights now light the way ahead. Other work done to this Series 3 XJ6 includes upgrading the car’s notoriously poor dashboard illumination to LED power and fitting a new transponder to the gearbox to cure a hesitant speedometer.
Declared insurance total loss category D in 2014.
