Description:In Brief:
On the Surface: This is a great example of a ‘real deal’ S2 Lotus Seven, finished in the iconic British Racing Green with a Lotus Yellow nose tip. This example, as do all Lotus Sevens, really stands out. Maintenance & History: This Lotus Seven S2 has recently benefited from a new hood. Additionally, it comes with an assortment of invoices, including one from 2017 for an array of parts amounting to £784.58. The most recent MOT certificate shows no advisories, reflecting the car’s well-maintained condition. The V5 registration document notes just two owners from new. The car’s history file, while not extensive, includes some paperwork and information such as online car check certificates and old MOTs. It is mentioned that the car was in a museum from around the year 2000 onwards and potentially part of a Gordon Keeble car collection, although there is no concrete evidence to support this. The Model: The Lotus Seven was produced by Lotus Cars between 1957 and 1973. Designed by Lotus founder Colin Chapman, the Seven epitomises the Lotus philosophy of performance through low weight and simplicity. The Seven S2, introduced in June 1960, featured a somewhat simpler chassis and a fibreglass nosecone, making it slightly more road-oriented than its predecessor. After Lotus ceased production of Sevens, Caterham acquired the rights and continues to produce cars based on the original design, known as the Caterham 7. Sale Insight: The Vendor has decided to sell this classic to slim down his collection. This Lotus Seven S2, with its classic styling represents a unique opportunity for enthusiasts. |
