On the Surface: Beautiful example of the rarer seen 1981 Mercedes-Benz 380 SLC. This car has been owned by the vendor for the last couple of years. This example is finished in stunning Metallic Blue over a grey interior which emphasises the elegant looks synonymous with this era of Mercedes. Maintenance & History: With the car is a wealth of documentation and history reflecting its well-maintained status. Included are MOT certificates from 1989-2005, some old photographs of the car and invoices amounting to just over £6,000 for work completed over the years. Notably, the original Mercedes-Benz bookpack is intact holding two Owner’s Manuals and the Maintenance Booklet. The Maintenance Booklet showcases the car’s service history with 12 stamps between 1981 and 1994. The mileage can be backed up for the years that services and MOT’s were undertaken, however, due to a gap in history between 2007 and 2023 the mileage cannot be fully guaranteed. The Model: The Mercedes-Benz C107 SLC was a sports car produced from 1971 until 1981, manufactured alongside the R107 SL. Unlike the SL, the SLC featured a four-seat configuration with a fixed roof and an optional sliding steel sunroof. Its wheelbase was 36 cm longer providing more space and comfort for rear passengers. The SLC model uniquely combined the elegance of a coupé with the dynamic performance of a sports car, replacing the previous saloon-based 280/300SE coupé in Mercedes’ line up. Production of the SLC ended in 1981, succeeded by the larger 380SEC and 500SEC models derived from the S-class line.
