MG B GT 1966

Description:

After a long search, the vendor found this MK1 B GT in the Meon Valley that was waiting to be stripped and his project began. Together with a collegue (an ex Jaguar apprentice), they dismantled the engine and their surprise they found that the bearings had very little wear and were original which provided them with the evidence that the mileage reading is likely to be accurate. The major rebuild was carried out by Robin Lackford Engineering who did a superb job. During the rebuild the vendor tried to keep as many of the original parts as possible and whilst the car is still positive earth, it has a 12v battery conversion.
The vendor has owned the vehicle for 24 years and he is sure the mileage is correct but unfortunately there is not enough early history to warrant it.
As you can see from the MOTs that date back to 1995, the car has covered very little milege during his ownership and that is one of the reasons the vendor is selling. He tells us that age has now caught up with him and the car now needs a new owner who will use it and cherish it, and hopefully drive it “with a huge grin like he did”.
