Lot No: 33
Year Make Model Mileage SOLD FOR
1966 MG B GT 66,107 (Not Warranted) £3250.00 + buyers premium

Description:

This is a genuine Mk1 narrow tunnel MGB GT, with wire wheels, overdrive, and Weathershields sunroof. It has been in dry storage for nearly 6 years, having covered a mere 10 miles since its last MOT in 2012. After fitting a fresh battery, new fuel pump, and fresh fuel the engine fired up easily and it runs well. The brakes are a little spongy but work well, and it appears most of the brake pipes are nearly new.
The fuel pump just fitted is a modern electric one and probably too powerful for an old mgb, so this should be changed to a standard one (it’s still positive earth). As this MG has stood for some time it will clearly need a thorough check over before returning to the road, although it shouldn’t present too many problems. The oil pressure is good, the coolant is fresh and not leaking, and it had some welding underneath for the last MOT which appears sound.
Regarding condition it’s an older restoration, and is showing its age a bit, but will make a great project, particularly considering the escalating values of these early GTs .
There is a good history file with the car, with a current V5C, SORN certificate, old MOTs, an album of restoration photos, many invoices, and a heritage certificate.
