Description:Description from The Vendor: I purchased the vehicle last year for my own use, but I have now obtained a superb MGC from a friend, so unfortunately I do not have the space (or the wife’s consent) to keep both, so I must sell my B This roadster was first registered in 1969 and up to 1994 had 7 owners. In 1994 it was purchased by a Mr Wright, who kept the car until last year. Up to 2015 the car was regularly but lightly used as can be seen from the old MOT certificates. It is not the original engine, by the looks and engine number it is probably a “Gold Seal” replacement. I do not know when it was changed and I can offer no comment or warranty on the mileage. In 2021 the car was fitted with new batteries, re-commissioned & on 9th October 2021, passed its MOT. I have since fitted a new SU electronic fuel pump, which by MGB standards is very quiet. The car has working overdrive on 3rd & 4th gear and is fitted with chrome wire wheels and has a walnut effect dash. The car starts well, but the choke is a bit stiff. The petrol gauge stopped working about 2 weeks ago, but I have not had time to investigate the reason. There is a radio fitted below the dash. The bodywork is generally good although there are some areas that now require attention. Chrome is ok, except on the spare wire wheel which has some rust showing.
Auctioneer’s Notes: That is a very honest description from the vendor. She certainly has all the right extras, chrome wire wheels, overdrive and I like the wood effect dashboard. She is an early model, a genuine Mark II, and remember she is 53 years old, but with 95 BHP under the bonnet she will give a good performance. Most of all, these cars have a reputation for reliability. May be viewed, strictly by appointment. |
