The vendor purchased this MG B in 2013 and has covered very few miles since then. It has been garaged all the time since his purchase. Completely restored by the previous owner who bought the car dismantled in 2005 from his son’s colleague who was the second owner having purchased the car in 1982. The car was then completely rebuilt including removal of the sub frame and corrosion repaired, overdrive gearbox professionally reconditioned and replaced cylinder head with unleaded. The rebuild took over a year during which time the previous owner states he replaced with new or conditioned parts: the wire wheels and braking systems, front suspension including king pins and shock absorbers, clutch and drive shaft, fuel system, wiring loom and batteries, windscreen and hood, internal linings and seat upholstery.
Included in the file are many MOTs from 1987. Photographs of the car before, during and after the older rebuild in the 80’s (when the car was originally white and was resprayed red), plus a hand written log of the car’s rebuild in 1984/85 and invoices. There is also a letter signed by the previous owner in 2005 who did the recent restoration detailing all the work carried out.
During the vendor’s ownership it has been used for short runs around the New Forest and is now reluctantly for sale as he has had to give up driving due to health reasons. Invoices for parts, work and repairs carried out during his ownership included.
