Description from The Vendor: This is a very rare 1968 MG C Roadster in auto. I consider it to be in superb condition and a very usable classic. These cars were only made for two years and the majority were shipped across the water. The auto is arguably at its best in the MGC due to the increased power of the straight-six engine and is considered on a par with the Big Healey. It is the C that has appreciated the most when compared with the MGB and can be double the price of a same-aged MGB. These are great touring cars and although a sales flop when new due mainly to a poor product launch and incorrect tyre pressures at the time (later rumours were rife over this oversight). There is a large history file with the car, including an invoice for 24K when it last changed hands in January 2020. They are great touring cars.   Auctioneer’s notes: These iconic British Sports Cars were only produced between 1967 to 1969 and for a 54 year old sports car they can certainly hold their own.  That fabulous straight six, 3 lit engine produces a 145 BHP giving a 0 – 60 sub 10 seconds and a top speed of 120 MPH.  In Classic Motoring, published in February 2020, copy on file, it says and I quote “if anything, the MGC is arguably at its best in automatic form” and it is said only 92 RHD cars were produced with automatic boxes.  This superb example we are offering you in our July Summer Sale has only come to market due to health issues.  It is interesting to note that the speed per 1000 RPM in the early cars is 27 MPH which is the same as a manual box in overdrive.  In the file, there are a number of articles, old MOT’s plus a Gov. UK MOT history, invoices (19 in all )  for servicing etc plus there is a MG Owners Manual.  I cannot stress more strongly how good this car is.  May be viewed strictly by appointment
