Description:Description from The Vendor: Heidi has been owned by my wife for almost 16 years, and has only been used to attend Classic Car events, mostly within Dorset, but she has ventured into Devon, Somerset, Hampshire and Wiltshire on occasion. Current mileage is just under 90,000 miles, supported by a long run of old MOT certificates. Heidi is a 1966 MG Midget Mk II. Fitted with a 1098cc engine, she is the Mk II facelift model with improved and much more comfortable seats. Non-standard additions are a 3 Branch Exhaust Manifold, Frontline telescopic front shock absorbers, and a Facet high pressure fuel pump. Heidi was subjected to an older restoration, believed to have been carried out in 1991, this was supported by a professional valuation carried out on the 19th June 1991. The restoration was a bare shell rebuild of all structural body and chassis, all mechanical drive train and suspension/steering/brake components. All wiring renewed. Much of the chrome work was renewed. The restoration was documented in a photograph album that comes with the vehicle. Most servicing and repair work from 1992 was carried out by Roger Taylor at Phoenix Classic Cars, all service details and receipts from that time to date come in a comprehensive file. During our care, Heidi has had her engine reconditioned, with a reconditioned lead-free cylinder head, a new sill, and new rear springs and spring hangers. Auctioneer’s notes: This well-loved Midget has been owned by the vendor since 2005. The history file is comprehensive, including invoices and one of them for £3476.60 from Phoenix Classic Cars dated 2011 for a general refurbishment, plus old MOT’s back to ’96. She really is in great shape and presents well and may be viewed, strictly by appointment.
