Auctioneer’s notes: This beautiful car has had a total nut & bolt restoration. The vendor is a renowned highly qualified engineer. There is a fantastic file of all the invoices totallying £6.797.80 plus another £4000 was spent on a new ash frame made by Steve Gilbert & Co who are regarded as the number one specialist in this field. The total of £10,970.80 spent does not include any charge for the vendor’s labour The interesting part of this car is that she is fitted with a pre-war supercharger, rebuilt by the top expert in this field, Tony Merrick. The supercharger is correct in every way it even has the MG Logo in the aluminium casting, it produces between 6 – 8 psi. Bearing in mind that the standard 939cc MG Engine produces 43 BHP at 5,500 rpm and with this supercharger the BHP is increased to 60. Considering that these little cars are very lightweight the power-to-weight ratio is excellent. She drives through a 4 speed crash gearbox and if the buyer of this lovely car does not know how to double-declutch I will give him or her a free of charge lesson. This wonderful icon of British Motoring History may be viewed strictly by appointment.
