Description:Description from The Vendor: Restored approximately in 2016-2018. Fitted with MG 1600 engine and drive train complete. There are service bills for the rebuild of the 4-speed gearbox and a full rebuild of the twin 1 1/2″ H4 SU Carbs. Inside the history file, you will also find the service bill for the above at £2300. The hood was replaced with full sidescreens at around the same time. The MG has rear-mounted twin spare wheels. The car has been used for visiting the odd show and cruised on the motorways without embarrassment. Further fettling will smarten the car up.
Auctioneer’s notes: This is not a show queen but she would make an exciting trials car. She is fitted with a 1600 MGA engine and drive chain which gives this little car 80 BHP put that against a TD engine of 55 BHP, that is quite a jump. She even has twin spare wheels mounted behind the fuel tank. She was brought into the country and was first registered 1.7.16. She is left hand drive and declared manufactured in 1951. She comes with a good number of invoices since she has come home and you will find one for mechanical re-commissioning at a cost of £2294, plus the twin 1.5 H4 carbs rebuilt and reconditioned. Over the past 5 years quite a lot of money has been spent on her and, by the way, you get a hand written log. She may be viewed, strictly by appointment. |
