1959 MG MGA Twin Cam 4884 (Not Warranted) £37,000.00 + buyers premium

Description:

This particular MGA Twin Cam was exported to the USA in on 3rd April 1959. There she stayed until being repatriated to the UK in the 90’s. A full and thorough restoration took place during this time and the engine was worked on by MGA Twin Cam specialist Bob West. It received twin weber carbs and a competition sump, which improved performance and reliability substantially; a vac servo, anti roll bar, re-ground crankshaft and reversing light. A photographic record of the restoration is with the car, as are the original SU carbs and sump. Further improvements include seat belts that although not fitted to the car will be included should the new owner want these items. The brakes, which are unique to the Twin Cam and Deluxe MGA models were further improved recently by having them chrome lined in order to to improve efficiency and help prevent any pitting (receipts in excess of £1,000 for the brakes included in the comprehensive file which also includes the British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate ).
In the boot of the car you will find an unused spare tyre in its red vinyl cover, and a tonneau.
The car was purchased by the vendor over 7 years ago and has been a genuine pleasure to drive, and when parked up draws conversation and admirers who remark on its condition and beautiful colour scheme. It has always been garaged since the restoration and covers less than 1,000 miles per annum. Being a pre 1960 car it requires neither Road Tax nor MOT, however it is serviced regularly by a classic car garage, whose owner is an enthusiast.
