|1954||Morgan||Plus Four||89,310 (Not Warranted)||£15,600 + buyers premium|
PLEASE NOTE: Carburetors etc are in the back of the car Auctioneer’s notes: This restoration project is not a rust bucket and is complete. She has stood idle for many, many years. The vendor’s uncle purchased her in 1968 and on his passing 7 years ago she was inherited by the vendor. She really will be a cracking car when restored. We are told that the radiator cowl and the twin spare wheels are mounted upright, only 80 were produced in that format. These cars share the same engine as a TR2, 4 cylinders 1991 cc, overhead valve produces 90 BHP giving a top speed of 96 miles per hour. When you look at the pictures and video you will note that the carbs etc are not attached, they are stored behind the driver’s seat. May be viewed, strictly by appointment.
Since I wrote the Auctioneers Notes we have received some paperwork from the vendor which includes a handwritten log noting all the petrol and oil and maintenance work carried out plus details of the spec.
The car was purchased on 25.4.68 by the vendor’s uncle – purchase price £210 – mileage 67734. The last entry in the log 6.5.69 mileage 71363 It is interesting to note that the mileage on the speedometer today is 89310.
You also have an old buff log book, issued on 1.1.59.
