Lot No: 64
Year Make Model Mileage SOLD FOR
1970 Morris 1800 29,913 (Warranted) £6500.00 + buyers premium

Description:

The BMC ADO17 – colloquially known as the Landcrab – provided a large, well-appointed family car that proved extremely popular with the public/press and was voted Europe’s Car of the Year in 1965.
Mr Hardcastle of Newbury purchased this prize winning example from The Morris Garage (Newbury) Ltd on 1st April 1970 for the princely sum of £1244. The car was used sparingly covering just 5,000 by 1992 when it was purchased by Bill Frazer, President of The Landcrab Owners Club and in 1996 this car won the prestigious ‘Most Original Car’ at the Autoglym National Concours.
Today the 1800 has covered under 30,000 miles and is still in absolutely stunning condition. The Cathedral Grey paintwork, original chrome & corrosion free underside of the car is superb, the interior like new. On the road the Morris drives well and is very capable of coping with modern road condition
The large history folder contains original bill of sale including factory recall letter, all MOT’s since 1973, Drivers handbook, period sales literature, tax disc and lots of invoices.

Auctioneers notes: Cars of this quality rarely come to market. This superb example really does tick all the boxes and will provide years of pleasure to the lucky new custodian.
