The car was first registered in Southampton 25.5.1937. The Brown log book is not available but the car appears to have had 6 previous owners. The previous owner in Wolverhampton carried out considerable improvements including the fitting of a E series engine & 4 speed sycro gearbox which it makes it a joy to drive. Also the electrics were converted to 12 volt. The Morris was also re-trimmed in bright red with matching carpets. The seller has overhauled the brakes with new linings etc.
This Morris 8 Tourer is in outstanding condition, owned by the vendor since 2/14 and the reason for selling is lack of use. It is a local, Southampton Registration No.. This great car has had some very acceptable upgrades. She has been fitted with a series E engine which gives considerably more power, 30 BHP, coupled to the 4-speed gear box, with far better ratios than the old 3 speed gear box. The history file is not massive but contains an old V5, a few MOT’s and instruction book and invoice for £475.00 for 12 volt conversion. This was carried out in 2011. She has the original Morris 8 operations manual, price 1/6 and one for the series E. I imagine that these upgrades make this car a delight to drive on A class roads. May be viewed by appointment
