Morris Eight 1935

Description:

The vendor purchased this vehicle in 1987 and set about restoring the vehicle himself with the help of some very good friends over the following years. This included renewing a sourced new chassis, inner sills, outer sills, 4 new leaf springs, new brake linings all round, new wheel cylinders and master cylinder, reconditioned brake drums, a new recon complete engine supplied by Mike Bates Autos, recon dynamo, recon starter motor, radiator was reconditioned by Felton Radiators, new complete clutch, recon SU carb, brand new wiring loom coil and regulator. The new engine was fitted in 2004 and the vendor estimates it to have covered approximately 150-200 miles since! The body was stripped to bare metal and new lower sections were put into all four doors, rear panel and roof rails were fabricated then the car and all panels were etch primed and 2k primed and prepared for the gloss black and Brunswick green. Interior was all re trimmed in leather and cloth by Barry Chaple of Parkstone Trimmers. From then on, the car has spent its life being stored in an insulated and carpeted garage only coming out in the summer months for a few local car shows. Before being dropped to the auction, the car had all oils replaced and new battery 05/06/17.
