Auctioneers notes: The vendor of this stunning Mini has owned her since 2014 and the previous keeper had her from 2002. She has had only 4 owners in her 54 years. She is a genuine Mark 1 850 Mini and she comes with a BMI HT Certificate, showing that she was built between 21st – 30th December 1966. In 09 the 850 engine and drive chain were removed and a 970 Cooper S engine, gearbox and disc brakes were installed. It is worth noting that these rare 970S were only made for one year and fewer than a 1000 were produced. They were manufactured for racing under 1000 cc class. The engines are very free revving and in standard form produce 65 BHP @ 6500 rpm and they are quite happy to rev to 7500 rpm achieving a top speed of 92 MPH. Included in the papers is a signed letter from the vendor – see appendix 1 – and a car registration certificate by the Mini Cooper Register – see appendix 2 – plus handbook and old V5C’s, old MOT’s and some invoices.
