Auctioneers Notes: The vendor of this car, I am sure he will not mind me mentioning this, is 87 years old and the only reason for him to sell this 65 year old vehicle are due to his health.. These Morris Minor Series MM Tourers were designed by Alex Issigonis who was even more famous in later years for designing the Mini. The vendor has owned this car since 2003 and has not used it in the past 4 years. So please be aware the prospective buyer will have to re-commission her. She has had petrol drained and fresh fuel added so she can be started and driven through the auction hall. Can be viewed, by appointment, from the 25th of June onwards.
LNP732 was registered on the 19th of February, 1953 to a Mrs. Doris E Aspen – the car was supplied by Colmoor Department Ltd. in Worcester. The early history is not known, we believe the car has been in storage for many years. There are photos of her in original condition. The modern history starts from 1995 and is split into 2 folders i.e. ’95 – ’97 which was at the time the vehicle was restored completely, what you might call a nut and bolt restoration. There are photos and a DVD of the restoration and 51 invoices amounting to a large amount of money. The heritage certificate shows that the reg no is the original number, but now not transferable. There are old log books and a brief history of the Minor. The second folder is for the period where she was owned by the vendor and it shows that the car was very well looked after. There are over 20 invoices from E.S.M Morris Minor Ltd and, importantly, invoices from Saunders Motor Works Cadnam for a re-ground crank shaft supplying new big ends and main bearings in 2012. Recent MOT history, 13 certificates, showing the car covered 11,000 miles in that period and a BMI HT certificate. She is finished in Empire green with green trim. The MM Series were built between September 1948 – February 1953, which means she is probably one of the last MM’s produced, she was built between the fourth and sixth February 1953
