Lot No: 43
Year Make Model Mileage SOLD FOR
1949 Morris Oxford 56,962 (Not Warranted) ££4,800 + buyers premium

Description:

Description from The Vendor:

Originally registered 2nd July 1949 to a dealer in Cornwall (original brown log book is evidence)

This is included with lots and lots of paperwork, history and photographs. (in a box file included)

Looks like they kept the car until 1951 in this year it I think was sold twice (original log book)

Was last registered in 1966 it then went into storage for some reason?

A father & son team then bought the car for f600 living in the St Minver Wadebridge area in 1994 after over 30 years of this storage. (make me feel the mileage of 56K is correct)

They rebuilt the engine, renewed the leather and carpet interior and did lots of bodywork.

One special/unusual feature is the headlight with the cat’s eyeglass made by Lucas for the Wellington Bomber and then used for the early Morris. THESE LIGHTS ARE VERY RARE.

They restored this car to a very high standard after 30 years storage can see their pictures and comments sheet. WOW.

Does not need me to do or say anymore, car, comments speaks for itself. It went into many shows getting lots of appreciation and prizes over many years. The then owner sadly passed away and I bought the car from the family in late 2017.

Not being sure this was all genuine and roadworthy because of my lack of knowledge I had a local MOT station check things out (see paperwork) they confirmed it was roadworthy and a numbers matching vehicle, the DVLA also confirmed the original registration number was legal on the car.

I as the present owner have added a brake booster and the car is great being 72 years old.

I am a member of the Morris owners club and they have said I MUST LOOK AFTER THIS CAR because there are not many of these left.

There are a couple of jobs left to do they are radio needs looking at clock is not working speedo does not work and the windscreen wipers need looking at (1 arm is ok)

Only reason for the sale is the owner is getting older and is moving and will not have parking for this vehicle.

In conclusion this a very genuine car and needs a very good home with someone that really cares? It creates a lot of interest and is fun to drive as long as you appreciate, please enjoy.

Just need to remember this car is over 72 years old and will only appreciate just need to look after it as said from the Morris owners Club. Please everyone keep safe and happy motoring. Kind regards RB. The current owner.
