Description:In Brief:
On the Surface: This is a lovely example of a 1979 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II, finished in stunning Caribe Aqua blue with a Silver Everflex vinyl roof, complemented by a Grey/Blue leather interior. The car has been under the care of The Vendor for the past three years. Maintenance & History: Originally registered on 23rd August 1979, this Silver Wraith II is accompanied by a comprehensive history file. This includes the original Owner’s Handbook, various MOT certificates, invoices totaling around £10,000 for parts, servicing, and labour and the original Owner’s Handbook Bookpack. In the handbook you will find The Owner’s Handbook, Owner’s Handbook Supplement, Customer Information Booklet, Sales and Service Handbook for 1979/80 and finally the Service Schedules and Record Book. The service book features 14 stamps from recognised dealers including Dutton Forshaw, Wadham Stringer and supplying dealer Dyer, with recorded services between 1980 at 7,464 miles and 1990 at 95,522 miles. The file also contains photographic evidence of extensive work on the wheel arches and a complete bare-metal respray. Over the years, the car has benefitted from thorough maintenance. Most recently, marque specialist Nigel Sandell carried out significant work including a new radiator, hoses, suspension parts, and a service to ensure the ride height is properly adjusted. Prior to this, the car received a new Everflex roof, along with brake and carburettor overhauls. It also features an LPG conversion, though the tank has been removed and will need replacement for reinstallation. The Vendor tells us that the current odometer reading despite being sold as ‘not warranted’ is incorrect due to a speedo change. The Model: The Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II, introduced in 1976, is a long-wheelbase version of the Silver Shadow II. With only 2,135 examples ever manufactured, it is rarer than its Shadow counterpart. This model is known for its improved handling due to the upgraded rack and pinion steering and front suspension. The Wraith II also offers enhanced practicality with additional legroom, a smaller rear window, distinctive Everflex roof, and unique wheel covers. Sale Insight: This well-documented Silver Wraith II is a fantastic example. Its service history, combined with recent specialist work, ensures that the car remains in good condition. |
