First 2 owners were disabled drivers as vehicle had a disabled tax disc rate when purchased.
Maureen Lee (school teacher and mother of current owner) used vehicle to drive to and from work in Hertfordshire from North London. Acquired vehicle 09.03.2002 — we think mileage was around 42,000-43,000 miles.
Gemma Harrison acquired vehicle 05.05.2006 mileage around 62,000-63,000
Gemma took and passed her driving test in this vehicle. Working in London she has used this vehicle for pleasure purposes when time allowed. She is selling this vehicle as the ULEZ charge in London makes using it an expensive luxury. She has also been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia which makes driving a vehicle without power steering very tiring. She could have scrapped ‘Herbie’ and been allowed £2,000 towards the purchase of her new VW, but she wanted the car to live on owned by somebody who wants to look after this example of motoring history.

This vehicle has a spare wheel and the original jack, crank handle, and wheel nut spanner. There are some tax discs covering the period 2010-2015 which can be used for film work. The vehicle was driven from North London to the Auctioneers in Poole, Dorset as it is highway legal.

This 1993 Rover Metro Nightfire Special is a lovely little car.  I think the vendor’s description sums it up perfectly.  She has a printed list of all work carried out on her from ’07 – ’21, plus a good number of invoices and she is sold with warranted mileage and an MOT to 21.3.22 and she will be sold at no reserve. She has spare keys and a car audio cassette adaptor!  May be viewed, strictly by appointment.
