Description:Description from The Vendor: My story of 598VWL started at the NEC meeting 2019 when I met the owner Mr Malcolm Price and was offered a viewing of the car at his address in the Oxford area. The next day on my way home to Devon, I called in to a farm to see an amazing collection of classic cars. The Rover was in a corner looking very sorry for itself, the body was shabby to say the least but the interior was wonderful. I struck a deal and the car came to Devon. With the onset of COVID and with nothing much to do restoration was started. Having a 40 year background of restoring pre 1940’s Austin gave me all the connections I need to have her properly restored. The car has a large file of early history from when it was in the Oxford area with 3 previous owners and there are also so receipts for parts and labour. The engine has been rebuilt to the standard bore, all chromework has been replaced, New carpets installed as well as brand new tyres being put on the car. Auctioneer’s notes: This is an outstanding example of a P4 – she is in excellent order, inside and out. The P4 110 represents the top of the range for P 4’s. Only 1534 of these superb cars were built and they have a 3 lit engine which produces 123 BHP which means that they can easily top the ton. The overdrive comes as standard and they are the most relaxed high speed cruisers. This is the one to have! She may be viewed, strictly by appointment.
