Triumph GT6 1969

Description:

First registered on 24th April 1969. The vendor’s husband purchased the car in January 1984. The car was then transferred to the vendor’s name in 1985. she drove the car to work on a daily 40 mile round trip until 1996. Along with their other classic cars, the vendor’s husband mechanically maintained the GT6 himself so consequently there is no history with the car. The vendor drove the car in the London and Brighton Classic Car Runs in 1989, 1999 and 2003, plus the Bath to Bournemouth rallies in 1999 and 2000. After this the vendor’s husbands health began deteriorating and so the car has been kept in the garage since 2006.
Recently a mechanic friend of the vendor started work on the car including a new radiator, brake and petrol pump in preparation for an MOT for the vehicle to be passed onto her son. Very sadly at the beginning of the year the vendor’s son passed away and so she has decided rather than leaving it in the garage, it must be sold.
The car is being sold as a non runner. It is free and rolling and will turn over.

Auctioneers Notes: A very sad family history has brought this car to the market. She is fitted with a light weight fibreglass bonnet which incorporates the wings and I think she presents a very sound base for restoration. The engine is free and she has had money spent on her. She is a Mark II and they are appreciating in value. May be viewed by appointment
