The Model: The Triumph JC Midge was hand-built from plans designed by John Cowperthwaite, mainly utilising Triumph Herald chassis’ and largely made of aluminum-skinned plywood. Its design draws inspiration from the British 1930s cars like the MG J2 Midget. Similar to the Burlington in both design and construction, the Midge originally served as a re-body of the Triumph Herald, Vitesse, or Spitfire, blending historical charm with dependable engineering.
