This car was originally delivered to an Edinburgh dealer in January 1974, the colour being Mimosa Yellow. You can see from the Heritage certificate it is an original UK car. In 1991 the colour was changed to it’s present colour of Signal Red. The owner then maintained and used the car regularly until 2002. The MOT on 13/06/2001 shows 90,147 miles, just 250 less than the current. The car then appears to have been in storage from 2002 until 2013 when it was sold by the owner’s wife after around 20 years of ownership.
From then until 2019 the car appears to have been in storage/ off the road with some restoration being carried out. The car was then purchased by the next owner in September 2019 who carried out the following work: section of rear chassis rails replaced, new fuel tank, new clutch master cylinder, new brake master cylinder, fuel metering unit overhauled by a specialist, cylinder head converted for unleaded, butterflies freed up plus various other minor work.
The owner was then unable to complete the restoration and the vendor purchased the car in 2020 with the intention to finish it. He started by fitting 5 new tyres and a new fuel pump and pressure relief valve. He took the car out for it’s first drive and it became immediately apparent that as he is 6ft3 tall the dream was not going to be a reality as he could not be seated comfortably hence his decision to sell it and let someone else complete the project.

Auctioneers notes: This is a genuine UK TR6. The vendor has spent over £5,000 and all the invoices are on file plus invoices and old MOT’s and tax discs from 1991 – 2001. All those invoices add up to a tidy sum. She comes with a driver’s handbook, owners workshop manual and spare parts catalogue. This car presents well, good gaps – unusual for one of these – she has overdrive and is crying out for a new home. May be viewed, strictly by appointment.
