Description:Description from The Vendor: The car comes with a large history file containing many invoices and past MOT’s. The car was restored some time ago but a new Mohair hood has been fitted in the past few years. The registration number comes with the car and it is quite distinctive.
Auctioneer’s notes: These much-maligned TR7’s Convertibles were only produced from 1980 – 1982 and there are not that many left. I think, therefore. that these cars are becoming collectible and can only increase in value. Technically, they were advanced in their day compared to the MG’s of that period., having De Dion rear axel incorporating coil springs and anti-roll bar. Upfront, you will find McPherson struts incorporating an anti-roll bar which makes these little cars handle well. By the way, they can top 114 MPH and when the convertibles arrived, so did the 5-speed gearbox. This example we are offering you in our Winter Sale in January is no show queen but a very drivable car and she may be viewed, strictly by appointment. |
