Description:Purchased by the vendor one and a half years ago. He set about recommissioning the car by repainting the engine bay, having a new old stock engine fitted by Lotus (invoices included), the brakes were sent off and rebuilt, a new clutch was fitted and the gearbox was rebuilt (has done about 20 miles since the rebuild so not yet run in). Before the vendor purchased it the car was stored in dealership up North for around 9 years and so hasn’t been used for a long time. A very rare 90’s classic and one of 286 right hand drive models ever built world wide! Auctioneers Notes: We are very pleased to be able to offer this Lotus Carlton by Auction on 24th April. These cars, when new, were the fastest saloon cars made with a top speed in excess of 180 miles per hour. This car is a beauty and comes with her leather-bound, gold embossed with the words “Lotus Carlton” driver’s handbook. The history and service file comes in sections and it is worth noting that she has had a complete engine rebuild in the spring of 2019, carried out by South West Lotus Centre Ltd. of Lifton, Devon, all invoices on file. PLEASE NOTE THIS ENGINE MUST BE RUN IN this is very important. The history file also includes old V5C’s and V5’s, old MOT’s back to ’97 and the original service book which has 12 stamps up to the beginning of the century and thereafter service and repair invoices from ’99.
