It was sent to Beetle Magic in Moreton for a refurb at a cost of £3000 (invoices included). Work included replacing the main oil seals and pushrod tubes, supply and fit alternator conversion kit, weld in new lower panel to the passenger door and respray, spray both side panels in sea blue, fit new indicator switch, reinstate interior light and wiring, supply and fit new petrol tank and fuel lines, in addition the vendor also had a set of Stebel airhorns fitted and the screen washers reinstated. Auctioneers notes: This is the 1303 S one of the last German built beetles before the factories moved abroad. This model is well thought after, having a 1600 cc engine – slightly longer wheelbase – and many other improvements. If you are into bugs, come and inspect this one. May be viewed by appointment |
