Description:In Brief:
On the Surface: This 1972 Volkswagen Beetle ‘Super Beetle’ is a good starter classic, finished in an eye-catching two-tone Purple Flake and White exterior with a Black interior. Maintenance & History: Since purchasing the car in January from a deceased estate, the Vendor has spent the last six months working to get it back on the road. While it does not come with an extensive history, it includes the current V5C and an invoice from February 2024, documenting new parts such as plugs, an oil pressure switch, a rocker cover gasket, a plastic seat runner, a carburettor rebuild kit, and a heater lever knob. Unfortunately, aside from the recent work done by the Vendor, little documentation is available on the car’s prior ownership or maintenance history. The Model: The Volkswagen Beetle, officially known as the Type 1, is one of the most recognisable cars ever produced. This particular model originally started life as a 1303. The 1303 was introduced in 1972 and featured modern updates such as a curved windshield. However, this example has been upgraded to a more powerful 1600cc engine, enhancing its performance. With over 21.5 million Beetles produced during its 65-year production run, they still remain a favourite among collectors and enthusiasts. Sale Insight: Offered as a great entry-level classic, this Beetle offers a solid foundation for someone looking to start out in classic motoring. |
