Description:Description from The Vendor: This is an ex-embassy car owned by His Excellency General Sir Shanker Shunshere Jung Rahadur Rana. A solid and presentable car, never been welded, re-conditioned gearbox, new brake pipes and a new master cylinder. A clean tidy and original car with a good history. The interior is in lovely condition, roof lining, carpets and door cards all original.
Auctioneer’s notes: This 1978 Volvo 164 3lit Saloon has had a very prestigious first owner, His Excellency General Sir Shanker Rana – see appendix 1 – Nepalese Ambassador to the Court of St James. When he passed away the car was gifted to his daughter. There is a great deal of early paperwork which makes fascinating reading and she even has an original service book with 3 stamps. Amongst the papers, there are letters and quite a number of invoices and old MOTs from the early days. and I noticed that there is a copy of a logbook which shows that his daughter still owned the car in 2005. This luxury seventies motor car may be viewed, strictly by appointment. |
