Description:The first owner of this Wolseley purchased the car in 1958 and registered it in Southbourne, Bournemouth (see DVLA history in file). 6 registered keepers over its 61 year life. Subject to a complete rebuild from the chassis up in the late nineties and little use since. Photographic record in file of the rebuild and re trim in file. Recent gearbox rebuild by a specialist. Auctioneers Notes The Wolseley 1500 was a unique car in its day, a compact, luxury motor car with all the trimmings that her larger cousins had i.e. leather upholstery, walnut dash and door caps, etc. This car on offer at SWVA has lived in Dorset for most of its life and the file that comes with her is very comprehensive and includes DVLA owners records, showing the first owner had the car from ’58 to ’92 and the second owner had her from ’92 – 02. There are loads of invoices which include the restoration which was carried out in the mid nineties, old MOT’s and log books. She is not concourse but a very usable classic car that presents well.
