Humber Hawk 1953 sold for £3,604 April 25th Classic Car Auction
Lot 20
This example is a very sound car, first registered in 1953. She has only covered 50k from new. We are told that it has full history including original log book. The second owner bought her in 2000 and we believe there has been one other since. She has excellent roof lining. The carpets need replacing, but the under lay is in good order. Leather trim is good, but may need the odd stitch. Comes with all the old tax discs from 1953 to 1974. She is finished in gun metal grey with red leather seats. Powered by a 2.4 SV 4 pot engine and 4 speed column gear change.
Condition: 2

Additional Information on the Humber Hawk
“The Hawk was the first Humber car to be launched after World War II, but was not really a new vehicle, being heavily based on the pre-war Hillman 14. The engine dated back to the early 1930s, when it was first used in the Hillman 12 and was a 1944 cc, side-valve, four-cylinder unit and it drove a live rear axle through a four-speed gearbox with centrally located floor change.”
Details and estimate to follow.
