Triumph TR4A 1965 entered into July 25th Classic Car Auction

What a truly wonderful example of this superb TR4A, as near to concours as you can get. This genuine Californian car, with British Heritage Certificate, was imported to the UK in ’94, with the mileage reading 38,000. Converted to RH Drive by Robin Hood Restorations in August ’94. Please note that all the panels are totally original, all the correct gaps etc. She is finished in BRG with black trim which is as new and has a new light tan hood and hood cover and correct, painted wire wheels. The history file, from the time the car was imported to the UK to date, is massive and comprehensive. It includes an invoice for £1775 for an engine re-build including new liners. The suspension has all new poly bushes, front and rear and the vendor does state that mechanically it reflects the condition of the body work. The total mileage of this car is 42,494. The old MOT’s go right back to 2002 show that the mileage covered is less than 2000 miles in that period and the State of California Certificate of Title in June ’93 shows a mileage of 38,500 and that is also shown on the Robin Hood invoice of ’94. All this information leads me to believe that it is within the bounds of possibility that the mileage could be and I emphasize that, could be correct. The new owner might be able to trace the American histories as we have records of the American Registration No. This car really must be seen, and it is worth noting, to its advantage in my opinion, that the ’64 TR4A exports to the USA were fitted with a live axle not the UK specs of IRS.
